*NOTE: I noticed that the latest version of the video plugin I’m using now has some kind of weird problem with Internet Explorer users. I recommend Mozilla Firefox to enjoy this site as it should be enjoyed, or wait until I fix the problem. One clear example of what this plugin is messing up is the fact that the video streamed here below is not the correct one if you are using Explorer… click HERE to go to the correct one.
Not too much to say… just enjoy and comment!
Hi-Res Video and the latest screenshots captured using Garry’s Mod here.
By the way, the German Magazine PC Action/PC Games will include BlockStorm in the DVD on the next issue, although I don’t really know if they are going to write a little review of the mod, as PC ZONE UK did last month. Anyway, this is great! BlockStorm has been published already in 3 magazines around the world… where are the spanish magazines? Shame on my country… ^^’.
Honorable Mention: Hypercube: Source
Everybody loves a bit of retro gaming and BlockStorm brings that back with the addition of some snazzy graphics. Two modes are included, one based on Arkanoid (A Breakout clone) and another based on good old Pong. You’ll find your mind drifting off to a time when games were simple, yet just as fun as anything today. What really tops it off is the fact that not a single bit of source code was touched–BlockStorm is created entirely in the Hammer map editor!
Extracted from here!Damn! Just a little step more and I could be the winner in the Reinvention Editor’s Choice Award… and that would mean 500$ more in my bank account! I was thinking too much in my driving license. Here in Spain is cheaper to buy a car than paying your Driving School bills, seriously. Anyway, I’m really happy with the awards. I wasn’t expecting any and I find one award and one honorable mention… too much for me! I’m pretty sure GoldenEye Source deserves the Reinvention Award more than me. Congratulations from here! (I mean, my room). After this, just expect the unexpected for this year 2007… more “Hammer Games” are on the way, and I hope this will not be the last “Honorable Mention” of my life. Thanks to all of you for making this dream become true… I love you guys!
Ejem… ejem… Harry, ¿donde te metes? XDDDDDDDDDDDD (Feeding the troll… ^^’)
Well, I stopped doing any mod for a while because I wanted to do some real mapping… kind of… *ehem*
My virtual room is almost finished and there are some few details left to complete the whole thing: fix the lighting, specially, preventing this weird result, add some little details, try to improve FPS (Now, around 50 in 1440×900 with some filters), and finally, add some weapons, ladders and lifts to explore the whole map by walking. I decided to prepare this map for HL2Deathmatch, I think is just the best game for this kind of maps.
And there are the last screens. Enjoy them and look for all the little details!
Thanks to Danny Kringiel and all the Half-Life 2 German community!
Can someone translate this text for me? I don’t really understand what is written there, and I have lost the original interview in english. Anyway, this is just amazing. They even wrote my name! Hehehe… is the only thing I understand in the whole review.
I’m still alive! Sorry for those guys whom wants to see me dead. I haven’t been so much time in front of the computer this last month because I finally got a job… in my country. Yes, is something unusual, but finally it happened. I thought I was going to have enough time for SDK-Project, Mapping and all the freaking things that I love, but some things went wrong in my live… I’m talking about women, of course. Anyway, if you still reading this is because you are waiting for some information about my mods… well, sorry, I have nothing to show to you. Nothing at all. But anyway, soon I’m going to continue with all those projects… I have a whole year to finish them, and I would love to do it. Patience is the key!
¡Sigo vivo!
