Today is my last day in my job… from tomorrow until someday (Hopefully, not so far) I’m gonna spend the whole day working on the SDK-Project, learning 3DStudio, and all that stuff. I’m working already in a quick mod, faster to finish than the Xen Invaders project supposed to be, which will be my first attempt of creating a Multiplayer Mod in the SDK-Project’s style. Showing it to you or not depends in some outer human factors. Anyway… sooner or later you will know about it. Well, enough for today… my next entry will have something to show, I swear.
UPDATE:
Due to the “outer human factor”, I will not be able to show ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about the multiplayer mod, unless I would like to lose some friends, until summer or even later. Anyway, you will get the entire project from the first day, without progress updates or BETAs. Bad news, I’m afraid… expect for Xen Invaders news this weekend.
Have you ever made a good friend through a game? I did, a few times. This is one of those cases. XSM, leader of Dodgeball: Source Mod and my boss for some time (while the mod was active) came to my city with his family and that was the perfect situation to meet each other in the real life and talk about the future. I’m really glad to have such a friend from U.S.A. I hope you liked Seville and I also hope you filled your digital camera with thousand textures from my city! I would do the same if I will go to your country. We are freaks… that’s our way of life… and I love it!

I also want to announce that I quit… FROM MY JOB. As you can see, I have been disconnected from SDK-Project and mapping a few weeks… I failed the Xen Invaders Project, I haven’t released yet my “Baxaroom” map and I hate this situation… I want to make videogames, I want to work on it seriously, and my stupid and useless (except for the money) job is taking away the time I have to spend seriously on this. So, from April until… whenever, SDK-Project will be more active than never. Hopefully!
¿Alguna vez habeis hecho una buena amistad a través de algún juego? Yo ya lo he hecho… unas cuántas veces. Este es uno de esos casos. XSM, lider del mod Dodgeball: Source y mi jefe por una temporada (cuando el mod estaba completamente activo) vino de visita a mi ciudad con toda su familia y esa situación se convirtió en la ocasión perfecta para conocernos en la vida real y hablar sobre el futuro. Estoy realmente encantado de tener un amigo como él en EEUU y espero de todo corazón que hayas disfrutado de Sevilla, tanto como espero que todas esas miles de texturas que te has llevado te sirvan de algo. Yo probablemente haría lo mismo si fuera a tu país. Somos frikis… es nuestro modo de vida… y lo adoro.
También quiero anunciar que me retiro… DE MI TRABAJO. Tal como habrás visto, he estado desconectado de SDK-Project y del mapeo un par de semanas… fallé el reto del proyecto Xen Invaders, aun no he publicado mi mapa “Baxaroom” y odio que sucedan estas cosas… quiero hacer videojuegos, quiero trabajar en ello de verdad, y mi estúpido e inútil trabajo (excepto por el dinero que me aporta) está robandome el tiempo que debería dedicarle a estas cosas. Así que, desde el 1 de Abril hasta… cuando sea, SDK-Project va a volver a estar más activa que nunca.
I’m very impressed with Valve’s Store service… they were really fast. Just in 5 days I got everything I ordered from USA to Spain… well, I guess Valve is not the responsible of such quick delivery, Fed-Ex deserves some mention. So, thanks to Valve and thanks to Fed-Ex for making me happy today… I love those crabbys! (Not all of them are for me… although I would wish it).
Now I am 2 t-shirts, one poster and 1 headcrab happier than before… ^^’
I’ll be out this weekend with my friends and I will have 4 days off straight to enjoy working on my things. I didn’t finish Xen Invaders in a week… so that’s why i’m taking more time (Not so much) to finish it properly and release a final beta or whatever (Hopefully, something playable). The final result is just more than excelent (for me, of course) and those are some of the features NOW INCLUDED:
- Invaders can shoot and they get harder level by level.
- Final bosses.
- Damage system (Instead lives).
- Energy shield (Removes all the enemy lasers on screen for a while).
- A very good OST (Mainly Unreal Tournament… what a traitor I am!)
I don’t think powerups will fit very well in such game… even Galaga didn’t have powerups. I’ll think on it this weekend after the hang-over.
Still less than 2 weeks…
