Attack of the classics…

There is no questions about this… classics games are the best. I’m a big fan of classics games and I love to make modern remakes of eternal games like Arkanoid, Carmageddon or Space Invaders, as you saw in previous entries of this blog. Now, I’m really pleased to present my latest experiment: a filmation style game.

Filmation is the trademark name of the isometric graphics engine employed in a series of games developed by Ultimate Play The Game1980s, primarily on the 8-bit ZX Spectrum platform, but various titles also appeared on the BBC Micro, Amstrad CPC, MSX and Commodore 64 platforms.”

I was in love when I was 6 years old with games like Knight Lore or Alien 8. This is a tribute to all those fantastic games. I think I’m going to continue it a bit more… it’s quite easy to create a full game in such way, but you know how I am. I prefer to say “this is just an experiment” and forget about the problems.

And talking about classics… JPG, from HL2Spain forums, is working in a”megadriver” mod using the same technique that I’m defending. This awesome example of modding has no C++ code and brings back to our memories good times when we woke up at 7:00 AM just to be the first one to catch our console’s gamepad before our annoying brother. I love this video:

Katamari Source Experiment

Guess what? o^^o . I did it again… I messed up Valve Hammer Editor again and, as the result of 2 hours of “hard work” (Not really, was quite easy) I  made a Katamari Damacy clone in Source Engine using just Valve Hammer Editor. You need proofs? Here it is:

And please… no complains about that clipping orgy, ok? This is just an experiment.  ^^’

My mom decompiled my map…

What I found when I came back to my home for holidays?  Another room… a different one. THAT WASN’T MY ROOM! What the hell!? My mother needed just one month to take my room and “decompile” it in real life for her pleasure. Anyway, I have another room in Madrid and I shouldn’t care about it, specially when the map was released after all.

Also, some progress about Ouija. I haven’t modified any entity since the last video, but my partner in this business Nokya made a perfect model for the pills that the player should take along the game to prevent heart attacks (This time, not in real life, hopefully).

Tomorrow I come back to Madrid, and I still having some days to work in any of my projects. Awesome. ^^

Temptations…

Hi, I’m Baxayaun… also known as the guy who is making almost 10 mods at the same time and he doesn’t want to forget about any of them. I love every single idea that I started, just because all of you shown me your interest and support about all of them. Because of that… thanks. In the last days I felt tempted by two experiments that I think are really easy to perform: clones of Stuntman and Katamari. As usual, I will not sleep in peace unless I’ll work in those ideas… but as usual I will start them and I will store them in my HD waiting for some of my attention after several months. If you don’t know about those games, just take a look in the following videos, and imagine them ported to Source engine. ^^

Ouija – Inventory and Spectral Camera

Holidays… what a wonderful word, specially in Spain! Here is a video showing some of the features I’ve been working on during this last weeks for my “trying-to-be-scary” mod… Ouija. A tip about the camera: it takes real pictures in the screenshots folder.

Thanks to Nokyolo for all those models and thanks to Vicky for worrying about the plot of this mod. Also thanks to Akira Yamaoka for being such an expert composing scary ambiental music. ^^

Steam Community

Hi guys! It has been a long time, or not? Anyway, my life in Madrid is as perfect as unexpected. I’m really fine here and I had a lot of time to make some progress in Ouija which you will see soon here. I’m not talking about more cameras and thirdperson view… i’m talking about hard-to-believe features made using just Hammer, as all of you are expecting from me. ^^

Soon, really soooooon, promissed! Now, take just one second to join SDK-Project Group in the brand new Steam Community:
